This is a graphic novel for children. Easy-to-read cartoon based upon The Romance of Three Kingdoms, the most widely read classic in East Asia. About the Author
HWANG Sok-Yong: Born in 1943, He made his literary debut when he was in high school. He started to actively write novels after The Tower won an award given by a daily newspaper in 1970. Hwang emerged as one of the leading contemporary Korean writers with such masterpieces as Strange Land and Jang Gil-San. For The Shadow of Arms he received the Manhae Literary Award and Daesan Literary Award for The Guest. His works have been translated into many languages.

LEE Chung-Ho: Lee’s My Love and Ka-kung are regarded as the key players in the country comics boom that produced million-sellers. With these two back-to-back hit comics, Lee was called the most prominent cartoonist in the 1990s.

From Jang’s birth in the family of the lowest social class to his manhood as Korea’s Robin Hood who only robs evil rich people to help the suppressed, the author impressively shows how one individual can spread his words and determination throughout the whole nation.

About the Author
PARK Hyung-dong is active as a comic book artist, illustrator, and director of animation films. Since 1998, Park Hyung-dong has been continuously active in releasing works of short stories that have literary and musical appeal and as a theme that he treats. There are ‘Jukebox’ and ‘Bossa Nova’ among his other works of comic books, which were part of anthologies of short stories, and he served as the character designer in charge in the animation, ‘Millenium Vixen, A Shower in a Starry Night,’ while he served as the director in charge in the animation called, ‘My Friend in the Raincoat Season 2.’

Wiman, hoping to take advantage of Old Joseon’s collapse, waits for Haemosu to return to the heavens and prepares an army. Yuhwa, the daughter of the island’s leader, Habaek, meets Haemosu. Haemosu returns to the heavens and the entire world falls into chaos. But the mark that Haemosu left in this world later on becomes the root of Goguryeo, the most powerful nation in East Asia.

About the Author
O Youn studied Asian painting at Chugye University for the Arts and graduated from the Korean people’s history department in the social education institute of Myongji University, where he is currently a professor of cultural contents.
O serialized comics and illustrations in Big Jump, Young Jump, Sunday Seoul, and The Kookje Daily News.
O was given the comic book award by the Korean Cartoonists Association in 2004. He traveled throughout old Goguryeo lands to gather materials for the illustrations in the book.
